1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Miyo Finance collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information when you use our website, application, dashboard, account connection flows, billing features, and support channels.

References to Miyo, we, us, and our mean Miyo Finance. References to you mean the person using the service.

If a feature links to a third-party provider, that provider's privacy policy may also apply to information it processes independently.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and personalize the application, including account aggregation, transaction review, budgeting, recurring expense tracking, transaction rules, debt planning, goals, household collaboration, notifications, membership management, and support.

We use information to secure accounts, detect abuse, prevent fraud, maintain audit trails, troubleshoot errors, analyze reliability, improve product quality, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information or financial information. We do not use connected-account data for third-party advertising.

3. Plaid-connected accounts

When Plaid Link is available and you choose to connect an account, Plaid helps you authenticate with your financial institution and authorize data sharing with Miyo.

Miyo does not receive or store your online banking username or password. Authentication is handled by Plaid and, when applicable, your financial institution.

Miyo's initial Plaid product scope is focused on Transactions for budgeting, spending, and account organization features. We do not request money-movement products unless a future feature requires them and this policy is updated.

Plaid access tokens are stored server-side, encrypted before storage, and used only to request permitted data for your Miyo account.

Disconnecting a linked account stops future refreshes in Miyo. Previously imported records may remain until you delete them or request account deletion, subject to backup, legal, security, and compliance retention limits.

4. Stripe and billing

If you purchase a premium plan, billing is processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment processor. The processor may collect payment credentials, billing details, tax information, and fraud-prevention metadata under its own terms and privacy policy.

Miyo stores billing records needed to show membership status, invoices, plan information, payment history, cancellation state, and support context. Miyo does not store full payment card numbers in the application database.

5. Household sharing

If you use household features, information you choose to share may be visible to invited household members according to the visibility settings in the application.

You are responsible for choosing appropriate sharing levels and for inviting only people who are authorized to view the financial information you share.

6. Security safeguards

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal and financial information, including authenticated access controls, multi-factor authentication support, session controls, rate limiting, encryption of sensitive financial tokens, and least-privilege access patterns.

Sensitive credentials and secrets are kept out of client-side code. Operational logs should avoid secrets, Plaid access tokens, public tokens, full account numbers, and raw financial payloads unless legally required or necessary for incident response.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact security@miyo.finance.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account and financial records while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, secure the platform, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.

You may request deletion of your account or specific financial data. We may retain limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, legal, audit, tax, backup, or compliance purposes.

Backups may retain deleted data for a limited period before they expire through normal backup rotation. We do not use backup copies to restore deleted user data except when needed for security, legal, or disaster recovery purposes.

8. Your choices and rights

You can update profile information, manage notification settings, disconnect financial accounts, manage household sharing, delete categories or rules, and request account deletion.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information.

To exercise privacy rights, contact privacy@miyo.finance. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. Children and age limits

Miyo is not directed to children or teenagers under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our product, legal obligations, service providers, or privacy practices change. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the application, by email, or by another reasonable method.
