1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Miyo Finance, including the website, application, dashboard, settings, account connection flows, billing features, and related support channels.
By creating an account, signing in, connecting accounts, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using Miyo, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
References to Miyo, we, us, and our mean Miyo Finance. References to you mean the person using the service or the organization on whose behalf the service is used.
2. Eligibility and account responsibility
Miyo is intended for users in the United States who are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate registration information, keeping your credentials secure, enabling reasonable account protections, and promptly telling us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not create an account for someone else, access another person's financial information without permission, or use Miyo to misrepresent ownership or authority over an account.
3. Description of the service
Miyo provides personal finance organization tools such as budgeting, account tracking, transaction review, recurring expense tracking, debt planning, goals, net worth views, household sharing, categories, notifications, transaction rules, and membership management.
The service depends on information you provide directly, information returned by connected providers, and data generated by the application. Financial data may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, duplicated, or inaccurate.
Miyo does not guarantee that displayed balances, transactions, reports, recommendations, alerts, or calculations are complete or current. Verify important information with the relevant financial institution before making financial decisions.
4. Connected accounts and third-party providers
If you connect a financial account, you authorize Miyo and its service providers, including Plaid where enabled, to access and process permitted account information for the features you request.
Miyo does not control third-party financial institutions or data providers. Those services may impose their own terms, availability limits, authentication requirements, and privacy practices.
You may disconnect linked accounts in the application. Disconnection stops future refreshes in Miyo, but previously imported records may remain until you delete them or request deletion.
5. No financial, legal, or tax advice
Miyo is an information and organization tool. It does not provide legal, tax, investment, credit, lending, insurance, or financial planning advice.
Miyo output should not be treated as financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.
Budgets, goals, debt calculations, recurring expense labels, transaction categories, net worth summaries, and notifications are for planning and convenience only.
You are responsible for decisions you make using Miyo. Consult qualified professionals who understand your circumstances before making important financial, legal, tax, or investment decisions.
7. Transaction rules and automation
Transaction rules can automatically match and recategorize transactions based on criteria you configure, such as name, amount, account, or date.
Rules are applied according to your settings and may affect existing or future transactions. You are responsible for reviewing rule criteria and correcting categories that do not match your intent.
Miyo may limit, suspend, or change automation features to prevent abuse, protect system integrity, or improve product quality.
8. Household sharing
Household features let you invite another person and choose what financial context is visible. Visibility settings are product security boundaries, and you are responsible for choosing appropriate sharing levels.
Do not invite someone or share account information unless you have the right to disclose that information. You may leave or manage household access through the application where available.
9. Notifications and mobile use
Miyo may send account, security, billing, transaction, budget, or product notifications through the application, email, push notifications, or other channels you enable.
Notifications may be delayed, blocked, inaccurate, or unavailable. Do not rely on alerts as your only source of important financial, security, or billing information.
You are responsible for any device, carrier, internet, or messaging costs associated with using the service.
10. Acceptable use
You may not use Miyo for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or unauthorized activity.
You may not probe, scan, bypass, overload, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or interfere with the service except as allowed by law or by a written security testing authorization.
You may not upload malicious content, attempt to access data that is not yours, or use the service in a way that harms users, providers, infrastructure, or Miyo.
11. Data you provide and rights you grant
You retain ownership of information you provide. You grant Miyo a limited right to process that information to operate, secure, support, improve, and provide the service.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide information to Miyo and to authorize connected account access for the accounts you choose to connect.
Privacy, retention, sharing, deletion, and security practices are described in the Privacy Policy and Security page.
12. Intellectual property
Miyo and its software, design, branding, workflows, interfaces, and content are owned by Miyo or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These terms do not transfer ownership of Miyo intellectual property to you. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose while these terms apply.
13. Availability, changes, and beta features
We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features as the product evolves. We may also release beta, preview, or experimental features that are incomplete or may change quickly.
We work to keep Miyo reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, data-provider availability, or error-free operation.
14. Termination
You may stop using Miyo at any time. You may request account deletion through the support or privacy contact paths.
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these terms, created risk, caused harm, failed to pay for paid features, or used the service in an unlawful or abusive way.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including privacy, payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions.
15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Miyo is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, accurate, complete, secure, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Miyo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, or decisions made using the service.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
16. Contact, notices, and changes
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@miyo.finance. Privacy questions should be sent to privacy@miyo.finance. Security reports should be sent to security@miyo.finance.
We may update these terms as the product, law, or business changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the application, by email, or by another reasonable method.
Your continued use of Miyo after updated terms become effective means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy and data handling are covered in the Privacy Policy and Security pages.
